We had a really fun Christmas this year! I thought instead of a long boring post describing everything that we did I would just throw a quick slideshow together. I hope that everyone had a good Christmas!

Best dog EVER!

Possum, a.k.a The Best Dog That Ever Lived, died on Saturday the 13th of December. She had been going down hill for a while and finally there was no other choice but to have her put to sleep. My Mom and Dad had to make that decision. Thank goodness it wasn't me because I don't think I could have done it. But seeing her suffer is harder. We were fortunate to have her with us for a long time. I think I was 11 when we got her as a pup. She was so energetic and fun to play with. I don't think she ever grew out of the puppy stage! She was Andy's shadow most of the time. Probably because He took her fun places where she could get muddy and chase squirrels. She loved to bite the sprinklers and play fetch. I appreciated her tenderness when my baby girls would tug at her ears and pull her tail and she wasn't quick to nip at them. A dog like her comes around once in a lifetime...it's just too bad she couldn't stay a lifetime too. Love ya Poss!

SNEAK PEEK!

This is Allison's barbie bed that I made. Her barbie is always the sassy diva, kind of like Allie is in real life, so I tried to make it a diva bed. Gracie's is almost done but hers is more soft and feminine. I think I will cry if they don't like them because I had so much fun making them. The people at Joann's Fabric look at you kind of funny when you only buy strips of fabric. I guess not too many people make Barbie pillows. But hey for about $7 a piece they turned out pretty cute! I can't wait to give them to the girls. I'm not one for keeping secrets so it has been hard to not show them to them. I showed Olivia and she said "OOOH Mom, My barbie bed?" So I guess I better hurry and make another one for her so she doesn't feel left out!

SNOW!!!!

It finally snowed and stayed on the ground! The kids were so excited to go outside and play in it! Olivia didn't play in the snow much last year so snow is a new thing to her. She thought eating it was really fun. Her mouth was bright red but she kept on eating it. Gracie and I built a snowwoman. I haven't done that in a while! It is a pretty good workout! Your butt and thighs start to burn like you've done a hundred squats. I don't remember feelin the burn when I was little! I am excited for Christmas. I have been working on making Barbie beds at night after the kids have gone to bed. They are turning out so cute and I am really feeling like one of Santa's elves or something. I will post some pics of them as soon as they are finished.

Thanksgiving!

Ok so I uploaded my photos in the wrong sequence. So what! I'm tired. I am still recouperating from Thanksgiving. Last night the girls and I decorated the Christmas tree. This is Allie's favorite thing to do. I have to supress my perfectionism and just let them go to town on it. I admit to moving a few ornaments but that is it! Olivia kept putting the same ornament in different spots. And then she would take it off and play with it for a while. Then she ate all of the candy canes within her reach. It's a good thing she is short because we just moved them up higher!

Ok so here are the Thanksgiving photos. The day started out with the girls in the kitchen and JR and Aaron playing football with a friend of ours. I cooked my first turkey ever! Yay me! It was really fun having everyone there. We missed Andy and Jolene though. They had dinner at home in Ogden.
My Mom and Dad.

Gracie lost her other front tooth just after we finished eating. SHe was really excited to have it out!

Gina's daughter Madison
Madie again
Gina had planned for the kids to make some crafts while we were cooking and getting things ready. They made these cute little snowman ornaments and a christmas tree out of candy.
This is the only picture I got of Gina's baby Ashlyn. She was asleep during dinner. I can't believe how much she has changed since I saw her last! I am sad that they are gone because it seems that I don't get to see them as much as I would like to. It really was a great Thanksgiving!

HALLOWEEN!!!

We had a really fun Halloween this year. It was great now that Olivia kind of understands it and can say trick or treat! We went trick or treating with the girls little friends and then we went over to Dave and Calie's house. Calie always has a special treat for the girls and they usually can't wait to get over there! It was so warm for being Halloween night! It was weird not having to force the girls to wear thermals or sweats under their costumes.

What we've been up to

It has been a long time since I posted anything new. I have been really busy and when I get time to myself I spend it with JR. And that is usually just an hour or two every night. This month has flown by! I really can't believe Halloween is this Friday! Gracie lost her fifth tooth while at my Mom's house a couple of weeks ago. It was really loose and she refused to pull it out so it fell out in her sleep and she freaked because she thought she had swallowed it so she woke my Mom up and they searched for it and found it under her bed. Thank goodness! The girls even got to play with their cousin Madie, whom we haven't seen for a while. They made a fort in Grandma's living room and had a good time playing.
This Monday night we had a really fun family home evening. We had a spooky dinner with candles and Allison gave the lesson, with my help. Then we carved our pumpkins and lit them up to see how creepy they were. Allie still refuses to touch the pumpkin guts but she drew the face and then JR carved it for her. Oh and I almost forgot that we went to a Halloween carnival at the school and ate cotton candy while the kids played games and jumped in the bouncy houses. I can't wait to see everyone's Halloween pictures of their cuties! I will post mine on Saturday! I swear!

Man Tag.

OK so I think the tag games are kinda dumb but I can't say No to Gina so here is a bunch of stuff you probably could care less about.

What's your husbands name? JR
How long have you guys been married? 8 years 3 months
How long did you date? off and on for about a year
How old is he? 29
Who eats more sweets? Anyone who knows me knows I am a sucker for almost anything sweet! I always tell JR that my inner fat girl has crazy cravings for doughnuts and chocolate, almost daily. Oh and thanks for the awesome metabolism Dad! Hope it can keep up with me forever!
Who said I Love You first? Um, good question! Probably me because I can't hide my feelings very well!
Who is taller? JR by a head. But we have the same length of legs, He just has a long torso!
Who is the better singer? JR is pretty good. I scare small children! Yes my kids have actually asked me not to sing them to sleep!
Who is smarter? Oh me by like soooo much!!! J/K We both have our strengths. But I can pretend to know just about anything.
Who does the laundry? In a perfect world? The maid! I hate laundry! But I do it anyway.
Who pays the bills? Me
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Me
Who mows the lawn? Me, I don't know if this drives JR crazy or not. He usually acts bummed out that I mowed the lawn, like it was his turn or something!
Who cooks dinner? Me always and I love it. But my kids are really picky so that drives me crazy.
Who drives? JR, because when I drive He makes me nervous and then I drive like a maniac.
Who is the first to say they are wrong? JR, He knows I am usually too stubborn to admit it.
Who kissed who first? JR ATTACKED me! Sick I know but hey you asked.
Who asked who out first? JR asked me. We went to see The Matrix movie in Price and then we had ice cream after at Baskins. He totally won me over with the ice cream!
Who wears the pants? We share them. Sometimes it's kind of uncomfortable!

DOLLAR STORE CRAFTS!!!

OK I confess! I have always hated the Dollar store with a passion! It has always seemed to me like a landfill waiting to happen...But I saw the little BOO sign on Joy's blog and decided that if it turned out ugly I would only be out a buck. So I went to the Dollar Tree and bought the picture frame. You are supposed to print the letters out on newspaper but my printer is out of commission so I just drew them on with a sharpe.
While I was in the dollar store I picked up some cute little white pumpkins, spanish moss, and some hideous red berry garlands that were supposed to be for Christmas. I spray painted them black so they would be all Halloweeny!

Grandma's Tile Table

Grandma's Tile Table

Tile Table

When my Grandma Johnson's house was being cleaned out we came across some extra tiles from when my Grandpa had tiled her kitchen for her. She loved blue and I'm sure she was delighted when He put up these blue white and brown tiles. Her kitchen was always where family congregated, as she was an excellent cook, and we all spent countless hours there with her and Grandpa. I remember a time when I was pregnant and my Mom and I had driven up to Provo to do some shopping. We talked about going to see grandma before we drove home and I said "Wow, you know I am really craving her apple pie right now! Wouldn't that be awesome if she had baked one today." Well as luck would have it we pulled up just as it was coming out of the oven. She didn't even know we were coming to visit! She had just felt like baking a pie. I have a zillion memories of her in her kitchen and so when her house sold I knew I needed a little piece of something that would stir up good feelings every time I looked at it. Nothing could be more perfect than tiles from her kitchen. So a couple of days ago I finally dug the tiles out and made a mosaic table for my front porch. I love it, and love having a little reminder of her.
