Yesterday Aunt Sherrie was nice enough to have family home evening at her house. It was so fun! We went swimming and ate and then had a lesson. Her pool is just perfect! The kids had such a good time. Gracie got a little scared after 2 incidents where her head went under water but Allison loved it and so did Olivia.

Mom's can't be sick! It sucks! The other day I was coming down with a cold so I laid down on the couch. I closed my eyes just for a second . I woke up to this: toilet paper strewn all over the bathroom, a trail of goldfish crackers leading into Olivia's room, Allison's drawer contents dumped on the floor, Livie with a dirty diaper, and the remaining contents of a jar of animal cookies dumped out and replaced with a stuffed beaver. Weird. My head was pounding but I couldn't help but laugh. Mostly because I know what goes around comes around. And someday! Oh someday they'll be little mommies and I can laugh at what their kids do. I can't wait!

We bought Olivia a cute little toddler bed. She was so excited! She pretended to help me put it together. I am amazed that she will actually stay in bed at night. I knew that she was ready to be out of her crib but I was a little apprehensive about the change to a big girl bed, so a little toddler sized bed was a good alternative. Liv seems to love her new found independence!

Any tips on how to civilize an 18 month old little girl would be GREATLY appreciated!!!

Grandma's Tile Table

Grandma's Tile Table

Tile Table

When my Grandma Johnson's house was being cleaned out we came across some extra tiles from when my Grandpa had tiled her kitchen for her. She loved blue and I'm sure she was delighted when He put up these blue white and brown tiles. Her kitchen was always where family congregated, as she was an excellent cook, and we all spent countless hours there with her and Grandpa. I remember a time when I was pregnant and my Mom and I had driven up to Provo to do some shopping. We talked about going to see grandma before we drove home and I said "Wow, you know I am really craving her apple pie right now! Wouldn't that be awesome if she had baked one today." Well as luck would have it we pulled up just as it was coming out of the oven. She didn't even know we were coming to visit! She had just felt like baking a pie. I have a zillion memories of her in her kitchen and so when her house sold I knew I needed a little piece of something that would stir up good feelings every time I looked at it. Nothing could be more perfect than tiles from her kitchen. So a couple of days ago I finally dug the tiles out and made a mosaic table for my front porch. I love it, and love having a little reminder of her.
